To make a long story short, I have a Flower Ray and a motoro that were shipped southwest air cargo. They went to chicago to catch a connecting flight and never got put on any of the 6 flights to Nashville. They are spending the night there and will be on first flight in the morning. By the time I get them home they will be bagged for about 27 hours. Should I:

A. Take water out of there bag and add some back in large volumes

B. Use the drip method

C. Dump them in the tank as soon as I get home

I am thinking C. That is if they are still alive. The water in the bags will be in bad shape when I get them home. Quarantine tank is 84 degrees and already has some salt added.

i guess look at them when u get them and make a choice. if they look bad then just dump, if they look ok then go with another one and do drip or something, im sry to hear and hope they all make it

keep them in chicago and i'll pick them up :D j/k i would dump them in if they are bad. good luck to you hope everything goes well

yep.....dump and watch......see if they are doing good and add frozen bloodworm's to see if they eat.....as long as they are eating they will be good.

Some are delivered to Europe and Asia, and are packed so that the animal should survive for about 3 days.
Don't panic yet, e-mail the shipper or contact them, ask if they used any ship tranqs or other meds? If not or if so, your shipper should be able to walk you through any methods he or she has experienced.

I'd still go with acclimate your usual method, or if the rays look rough I’d go with switching larger volumes of water.

My only concern would be water temps.,,,,,,we 're having high temps up and down the East coast.

I got stinky Leos a few years back, in a similar situation except a door to door over night express co. The bag smelled like a swamp and the water was more than warm. One was DOA the other passed a few hrs later.

thats a tough one, flowers are pretty delicate, but i would do one or 2 large water changes fast and then drop, so they get a lil close, good luck

I got them home alive and stressed. I changed out 3/4 of the bag water and waited 15 minutes then dumped them. The female motoro has some ammonia burns on her belly. It is very red in spots. Could of been from supplier as well. The flower looks good. They are both skinny though. I have the water at 84 degrees, 1 tbsp of salt per 10 gallon, and will be adding prazi pro 2x dose to start this afternoon. I will also try to feed them in a couple of hours. Right now they are in the Quar. tank with a large towel coverring it to keep it dark. I will get some pics this evening to track there progress.
