I am currently in the middle of my first "fry" experience and have a question i need answered reeeeeal quick.

so my RBPs spawned.. i pulled the eggs and put them in a 10g fry tank treated with meth blue. when the tank was first set up it looked like this (see below)

i woke up the next day and it was a little cloudy but not awful. i did a 50% water change using water from the mother tank(which is crystal clear and well established.) Several hours later (now) my eggs are starting to hatch but the water has become unbelievable cloudy.. (see below)

what can i do to correct this? will this harm the fry? will it kill the new hatchlings if i change 80-90% of the water?
help help help.

the 10g fry tank has heater, thermometer, air stone and sponge filter - thats all.

ii would just keep using water from mother tank and you can exchange 50% max per day until water is at reasonable levels

A bloom - it's fine - and the fry will probably appreciate it if there's some algae and microscopic creatures involved :) Nice work! Update this please :)

Its a little less cloudy this morning (not clear by anymeans) but less than it was. ima do another 50% water change in a few hours.

but this wont harm the fry? i can't even see well enough to make a guess on how many hatched...looks low though...maybe 30-35%.

thanks guys!

Did the water change..i can see in now..i probably got 200-300 hatchlings in there.. but now the dead undeveloped eggs are starting to lift off the bottom and float around the tank...should i net these n get them out or will the fry eat them when they get big enough?

Net the dead eggs out before they start to change the water chemistry for the worse.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

Got atleast 90% of the dead eggs out...took forever..so many. ill try to get the rest out in a bit.

i also cleaned the main tank and found some hatchlings in the bottom of the buckets i took out of it so i added them in aswell.

Just an update for anyone following this. This morning the water is about 70% clear.. still a couple "bad eggs" around the tank but the little guys are starting to swim around a bit so its difficult to get anymore bad ones without snatching up some fry aswell.

everything is good, everyone is still alive. going to do my daily 50% w/c in a bit....being from the midwest i have to go dig my house out from all this crap "winter storm ion" dropped lastnight.

ill try to get a pic or vid of my little (French?) Frys!

that is so awesome, cant w8 for pics. Yup this is the most snow we've gotten here in years.

Woke up to major problems this morning. Being almost -40 with windchill here my fry tank went from 81degrees to 74degrees overnight! ...i dont know how they survived a 7degree drop but they are all alive and active.
My plan was to water change 50% and slow syphon 80degree water from my mother tank to slowly warm the fry tank up.....however i notice my fluval G6 flashing me saying the temp is out of range. So i look to find even that one dropped from 80 to 75.1 its got two 300w heaters on full blast.
Had one extra 200w in the garage so I'm waiting for it to warm up in the house a bit to see if it works or not to get my temps back up..... i dont want it to explode when it touches the water considering its been outside in -10 n below temps for 2days now.

Nightmare! Oh and i tried to get pics but its too hard with my crappy phone camera. Maybe ill try a video later.
