I was adding some smallish river stones to my tank as it was filling after a water change, and my 16" green aro (who is a real pig and eats loads) swims over, picks one up and swallows it! I was stunned and couldn't really believe it. I waited for him to cough it back up, but instead he swims back and picks up another despite my best efforts to chase him away. The rocks are around 12-15mm diameter and nice and round, but I fear they are far too large to pass through his digestive system. The fish is swimming around normally, still looking for food (all the other small rocks have obviously been removed).
I guess there's not much I can do other than wait and hope he regurgitates them. Should I feed him at all or starve him?
