i would rather have it 30 X 11. At least with this you have your longest sides have all the support. I think you would be fine with it like this but if you are going to loose sleep over it why not spend the $2 and get a board that fits the bottom. 1/4" would even do the trick because your just trying to support a 1/2" over hang either side.

I think im just going to delay setting this tank up though, I got a couple free tanks (20 gal long and 30 gal) from a fellow MFKer and till be picking up a stand for both next weekend..
Im planning to set up the 30 as a ram tank, but have intentions to build a 3d background for it. I was trying to set up the 20 as a temporary tank for the little rams who have been in a 10 gal grow out...
