Urgent Help Needed! Discus Won't Eat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Didn't you just get into discus last month and now you're a pro at raising juvies? LOL kidding ;) Like I said, it's all relative. The whole point of doing water changes is to keep nitrates down. Yeah, you're feeding juvies a lot, but you also should look at the amount of waste being produced. Just do some testing. Maybe you'll find you can do water changes every other day and not have it turn into a chore instead of a hobby. If after one day nitrates go from 5ppm to 20ppm, then yeah, you need daily water changes. Moral of the story, find out what works for YOUR tank, not what is repeated over and over on internet forums :)

LOL Discus are no different from any other fish.. Fish we keep need clean water/high quality food/suitable environment(tank size). Discus are no different.. maybe just a little more effort in making them bloom but I found them to be relatively easy.. Never claimed to be pro either. For example.. lets say.. theres 2 75 gallon tanks. Same stock, exact replica of each other. 1 tank gets 100% daily water changes while the other gets.. say.. a 100% water change every other day. Its obvious that the stock in the tank that gets daily water changes will have better water quality.. leading to healthier Discus.

first thing is water temp should be between 82 to 86 then get them some frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp that should get them to eat i do a 75%water change weekley twice would be better and they do like to be in groups a few more would be good ive been keeping them for years
