Maybe the fish got trumatize when you put a cold water, ive seen this alot on polys and i actually experiance it my self, big WC and big difference with water temp can give a fish truma.

Had similar episode and lost a few like this.

What happend with your bichirs when you experienced this? Did they pull through?

Had similar episode and lost a few like this.

I believed i lost two ornate from the same case, the ornate will dart all over the tank just to get air amd when it got spoked, it was to late for me to figure out that it was the sudden temp change when i do WC, temp was 80degrees and goes down to 68-70 degrees cause i was just using a regular water from a garden hose and the water was too cold, even when the water temp goes back to a regular 80 degrees it will take maybe 1-2 hrs.

What happend with your bichirs when you experienced this? Did they pull through?

No i loss them, i thought it was some type if external parasite that was bothering them so i did more water change and i just made it worse.
