Hi my poor fish have not eaten for months and the top fin is almost rotten damm sad to see it iin this state. I wonder if it still have any hope to recover wish to hear all comments from u guys.

what type of arowana? what have you tried feeding it? how long was the last time you made a water change?

Do a major water change immediately. Source out some medication for what seems like fin rot.

Not a good idea, hes not really sure if its fin rot or not and pumping meds in is just going to make it worse. Just do a couple big waterchanges in a row and bump up the temp and add a bit of salt. Keep the meds out for now.

:iagree:but he said "the top fin is almost rotten." Its really vague without pictures and such, but that can not be good.

When I ran into this problem meds didn't seem to work. What did work however and worked great is a little aquarium salt and frequent water changes.

clean water is the key. Add salt. Bump up temp.

my green aro is almost fully recovered after it got its tail, anal and cordal fins cropped down completely (while pectorial fins were completely shredded). i did not think he would make it but he is alive with growing tail and fins

Is your aro floating in the tank so that the fin is out of the water? Does it seem to have trouble balancing itself in the water? If so let me know because I recently had the same thing happen to my 24" silver aro. I was able to cure it using a combination of methods mentioned previously. My aro has never looked or eaten as good as it does now. :)
