URGENT: Help on my Delhezi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i wouldn't add the pimafix or melfix. They barely work and it causes more harm than good to the fish. It has some compound that causes cancer to humans.

Yeah that's bad advice. The over dosing of melafix and or pimafix would decrease the oxygen in the water column suffocating the fish. Proper dosing of melafix and pimafix works wonders.

Looks like internal bacterial infection. Red fikns like that usually means high ammonia or bacterial. Metroplex and ethromycerin (probably didnt spell that anywhere close to correct ) are good broad spectrum meds.

Looks like hemorrhagic septicemia to me...

will i have to worry about other fishes?
The del is in a hospital tank now with a sponge filter and added salt. Anything you recommend?

I will try and get better pics when i get home in a bit. Hopefully that should help determine the cause.

Also, is this what i need to do?

^ Thanks M4ttSyke will do plan on using triple sulfa and putting him in a 10 gallon tank. He is about 18" will a ten gallon be to small for him for 4 days ( 24 hrs x 4 per box instructions).

I also found this post from Solomon, a well respected member of the ancient fish community:

Thinking about trying it first what do you think?

Thank all for your help.... He is good 9-10" and fat...

Just reached home and to see him lying on his side. He is breathing but has no strength whatsoever :(
I am sad that I can't help him much. Reducing the water level so he can try and breathe. I think he won't see the morning :,,(

i guess he was stressed from the move. You should of left it in your orginal tank and added salt after a WC.

I doubt bro.... I left him in the tank till eve. The main tank is 360g + 110g sump. To add so much salt I wasn't up for it. I had added some in the morn though. But didn't see any result. He was having difficulty breathing in the tank so I shifted. It was very smooth.

As feared he didn't live to see the daylight :(
