My direct drive pump was from a different manufacturer, so I'm not sure, but are there long bolts on the back end of the pump (the motor end) that run all the way to the volute (face of the pump). There have to be screws holding the black plastic (volute) to the pump motor.

I'm not sure about the pump you are using, but you definitely were not supposed to lube the seal on the direct drive pumps I was using. Perhaps after years of being in service you might want to take it apart and lube the bearings, but you aren't even supposed to touch the ceramic ring (part of the seal) so that you don't contaminate it with oils. I wold talk with the manufacturer directly to get best practices for maintaining the pump and what may or may not need lubing.
I'm so mad cause I've only had it for 3 months lol. I emailed them yesterday, and they wanted my purchase receipt because the model i have was discontinued a year ago. I bought it at champion lighting and supply online. I'll probably have to wait til monday to hear back again.
