Oh, about swabbing the area, if you can catch the fish without to much strees a swab with hydrogen peroxide can help, but in this case I wouldn't, te infection is still very minor and you risk injuring the fish during capture.

Yeah i decided not to swab the infection. Right now he is a 10 gallon tank, with a sponge filter and an airstone. I have added salt a little bit at a time, till I reach the correct amount to put in.. The pleco is swimming around.

The way to tell the difference between H. subviridis and B. dematoides is the seperation between the dorsal and adipose fins (pictured below). Both have the same colorations.
