Put carbon kn the filter to remove meds

Pretty much. I have a feeling it was caused by the meds

I think that is more likely as well because i'v used this test kit for a couple of months and readings are always the same unless I am late with a wc nitrates go up a bit but that's all so I don't see why it would stop working when I need it the most, but I guess you never know. Thanks for the advice, I will keep post an update if something changes or I can figure out the cause

What the expectation date on the kit? Even thou I doubt that's it cause if its giving consistent readings then its fine. You could get a cup of tap water and established tank water and test both.

The expiry on the test kit is 03/2017 so def not out of date, I have sorted out a bucket and filter and I have added media out of the main filter so its cycled but he has settled down now and is acting a lot more calm and resting on the bottom again so idk if I should move him or if the stress will make it worse :/

Add carbon to the filter to temove meds.

You have already done a wc.

What is the temperature?

Raise it a bit. To 28.

No salt, ever, with cats ( and other scaleless fish)
