Simplicity Plus Internal Filtration? Good or Bad?

It's a good system if you don't mind sacrificing some tank space... 1 very good thing about it is the fact that the powerhead can run at a much better efficiency than in a sump.

I have a Tenecor 330 with the Simplicity Plus package and I hate it. It is very difficult to clean and maintain due to its narrow opening and the placement of the top braces. I don't have big arms but I still end up scraping them raw every time I need to pull out the pumps or reach the lower parts of the filtration area. I have had to modify the drip plate to get the water to go through at a reasonable rate.

I strongly recommend you get a tank drilled for a sump instead. You will have more flexibility, better access (if the sump is well-designed), more useable space in the display and greater overall water volume, etc. etc.

i bought a 185 gallon marine ready and although i consider it better than the simplicity plus i still find i a pain to clean and maintain. although you don't give up the extra space, you have to constantly clean the sponge for i had mine overflow and kill both of my pumps. i would only recommend the marine ready because as said earlier it is a much more flexible design, (allowing you to add additional filtration going into the sump if needed)
