URGENT!!! PLZ Help fast! Another fish is sick!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wish I could figure it out. The water is always kept clean, plenty of oxygen/aeration, and excellent turnover. When the FM got sick I tested the water a few times to rule out any problems with that. All was normal. Now when the Acara is sick, I did the same and all parameters are normal too.

I did add salt when the FM was sick but didnt seem to help, although I pulled him out after 1 day because he was being harrassed (plus I didnt want it to spread to other fish). The next morning he was dead.

I added salt and raised the temp up to 81 degrees, today the Acara seems better. The breathing is normal, but the fish isnt as active as previous, still eats although not as much as normal. Previously I mentioned that my yellow acara was hassling the blue acara, so I pulled the Yellow out last night and seperated him.

I do notice my fish flash/scratch once in awhile. And that bothers me, I willing to bet this illness is parasite related. Maybe the parasites are in the gills, because the fish's respitory are affected.

Ive read numurous sources about fish disease and the few that I think they might have, tells me that the fish could appear healthy and be affected, and only when the illness progresses will you see these symptoms. And sometimes at that point its too late or difficult to fix.

I really wanna treat my tank with some kinda meds to eliminate anything that could be in my tank. But im nervous when it comes to meds, because sometimes they can be harsh on the fish.
