My channa asiatica pair have just produced eggs...now what!? The flow in the tank was swishing them about but for now i have turned the filtration off. The parents are now frantically gathering the eggs up but what do i do about the flow in the tank, and what do i need to do to ensure the eggs successfully hatch?

put in some floating plants, so the eggs wont flow away uncontrolled. This helps the parents to keep the eggs together.
Asiatica do not need flow at all, use a small air run sponge filtration, thats enough.

The eggs will hatch when they are fertile, and you will have more asiatica that you can ever give away ;-)

Congrats!!!

Thanks! How do I know when the eggs are fertile and once they hatch what should I feed them?

they are fertile ehen they hatch ;-)

únfertile eggs start to get fungus pretty soon. When the fry hatches feed them decapsulatetd brine shrimp eggs, or freshly hatched brine shrimp.
When your tank is not sterile clean there should be also a lot of microfauna the gfry can eat untill they manage to devour bigger stuff like Copepods.

Raisinig the fry was always no problem with my asiatica. They soon started to eat the decapsulated brine shrimp egggs, and the mother (a foot long) tried to suck as lot she could get from the water surface aswell
