At my desk
What is wrong with my fish? :nilly:

I have lost my NGT, a Silver and my gulper in the last week and attributed it to stress and moving them between tanks. None of them had any apparent illness or injury.

I left my house at 930 am, checked on all my fish and fed them. I returned home at 6pm (now) and my last silver looked like this.

Params are normal and temp is 77*

What is wrong and what can I do?

Thanks in advance

Nitrate burns? I would add salt, fast for three days or so, and bump up the temp to 80 at least. Leave the lights off and they should be fine :)

ok thanks, will get a new test kit too. How much salt?

This seems odd because tank and filter have been cycled and the other inhabitants seem fine. Even the other casualties didnt show any signs burns

Is it bare bottom?

yes, they have always been in a bare bottom.

Have you done a large water change or larger than normal? Add new fish? Service a filter and possibly cleaned it too much? Any of those?

50% wc 2 days ago...

2 teaspoons per gallon?

I would go with 1 Tbs per 10 gallons and decide if I need the same dose after 24 hours of observation...Good luck.

ok thanks. I got anxious waiting and did a tablespoon for every 5 gallons. Should I do a WC? 225 gallons in the system, 45 tablespoons...

Nope, just let it go....He will be fine. If you get really worried you could add some Melafix or something, but that should not be needed...
