Nope, just let it go....He will be fine. If you get really worried you could add some Melafix or something, but that should not be needed...

:) Okay thank you

I would be more aggressive than that considering the value of the fish. When you say parameters are normal, can you be more specific? pH at least if not NH3/NH4, NO3, and NO4? I would go with something antifungal and a broad spectrum antibiotic like penicillin or ampicillin, the pictures are not clear but it looks like it could be fungus. Is this a new tank???

First of all, I value all of my fish and dont want to be so aggressive that it stresses the rest of the inhabitants in the system too much. None of the other fish in the tanks show any signs of illness. and ive never seen a fungal outbreak go from no signs to covering 50% of a fish in less than 12 hours.

I will test the water again tomorrow when I get my good test kit back from my buddy.

The setup is new for this fish but the filter is from the 240 that this fish came out of.

The silver doesnt show signs of labored respiration right now, hes swimming fine, just closer to the top than usual.

there are eight other fish in the system, two smaller than the silver that dont show any signs of stress/infection/illness

If it doesnt improve or if it gets worse i will be more agressive
