THE JOB – URINE TEST ;

(Whoever wrote this one deserves a HUGE pat on the back!)



Like most folks in this country, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay
my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to
get that paycheck in my case, I am required to pass a random urine test.
What I have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who
don't have to pass a urine test.

So here is my Question:
Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because we
have to pass one to earn it for them? Pease understand, I have no problem
with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a
problem with helping someone sitting on their butt - doing drugs, while I
work. .. . .. Can you imagine how much money each state would save if people had to
pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

I guess we could title that program, 'Urine or You're Out'.

Pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope you all
will pas s it along, though. Some thing has to change in this country --
and soon!!!!!!!

Wait, woudn't a urine test cost money as well, and a lot of people sit on their butts and don't do drugs...

I never really looked at it that way. It is rather frustrating. In some ways I think they (being the wellfare) should be held to more strict standards then the workers. Of course even then more tax money would be wasted just to give them a check. Well, maybe not. I know a few on wellfare and I can promise not one would pass the test. Not one seems to be hardcore about getting a job anytime soon. I feel your frustration. Especially with the tax I still have to pay from 08 EEERRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Arthur makes a valid point. If the testing were done at the initial point of signing up or whatever to get on welfare and randomly after that. Your welfare income could be taken away if you were to fail a drug test, which could be given to those you are suspected of doing such things. The money that the government would spend on the tests would be made up in money not given to drug addicts....... However we will still have to pay for them when they are homeless, in rehab, or prison.
 
this isnt so much about a urine test, but i think its the overall issue of taxpayers having to pay to support lazy worthless people. sure, some folks may have fallen on hard times and need some help, but lets face it. we all know the vast majority of folks on welfare abuse the crap out of the system
 
do not believe that most people on welfare sit around and do drugs. most people on wlefare actually do need it. I agree that some do abuse the system, but i think we have to be careful to not think in stereotypical ways.
