My Uro can be Nasty, like right in the middle......Not Trimac or Red Devil, much like a Jag and a Male Con, but not as puss as a GT or a JD.......

well i have had a GT, con, and uro now. the uro by far is the meanest of the group. she is starting to take over the tank, first off the GT and Uro ganged up and killed the female con, now that the uro is growing faster than the GT she has passedher up and starting to get dominance (SP) over her. so they have been fighting it out a lil, hopefully it all end ok, and they keep getting along, and mine are only about 3"+/-..

We went to That Fish Place today and they had a Uro in a small tank. It had a pvc pipe in there where the Uro was hanging out. The uro was about 6-7 inches end to end. This thing kept smashing into the glass to attack me and my wife. We sat there and teased for a good 10 minutes till it finally gave up. This is by far the most intense glass banger I have ever encountered. If I had another tank I would have bought it in a heart beat, regardless of how its not a true red.
Anyone ever been bitten by one of these guys? I could see it being relentless.

The last few posts are strange, my uro is always bullied in my 120, my jag mostly picks on him but my pike has a share in it too. My uros not aggressive at all...
hey ruck fules, first off , the name kicks ***. second, what species is that in the pic with the uro?
Uro's have larger ocellaris(tail spot),only get 12" max and have 7-8 bars.
Festae have smaller ocellaris positioned at top of tail,get up to 20"(usually bout 16)have 9 bars and are much more colorful.

Uros are kinda cool IMO. Colors are pretty good when mature. I found this pic of an adult somewhere, it's not mine. The little one is one of mine, in a grow out tank. Note how big the spot is on these fish. They are just starting to show a tiny bit of red here and there. Still tiny fish, and hard to get a pic of without a macro lens, but spunky already.
