My mali uromastyx is 4 years old, recently her front right leg has swollen up. I took her to the vet but he seemed brainless so i'm looking to you guys for help. Could it possibly be a break, or an infection of some kind? I know you're gonna ask for pictures so I'll post them up asap. Thanks in advance.

here they are, in the second picture you can really see the difference between her leg sizes.

Does your Uro have UVB lighting and do you dust the food with calcium with vitamin D? Sometimes swollen legs are a sign of metabolic bone disease.

I do have a uvb light, and i dust her food once a week, i also feed her plenty of high calcium veggies like Cale greens, Collard greens, & bok choy, peas and carrots for treats. I thought it may be MBD but dont they usually lose their appetite because it hurts to eat too? She chows down all the time still with no hesitation.

i used to have a leopard gecko with this problem, it was caused by shed skin getting caught on his shoulder area, however it did not get any better when we helped him shed, sadly he ended up loosing that leg:( it didnt seem to bother him though

despite most rules you could give her a bath in a little rubber maid tub, itll help her shed if shes havin a prob

most likely old shed i would soak her and see if the skin loosens up also dont be affraid to help peal it off

how old is the uv bulb ?? dont forget people replace your bulbs every 6-8 months just cause the light works doesnt mean there is still uv coming from it
