By the Beach!
It took me all summer but my 60g Uruguayan Cichlid Tank is up and running. I'm still having some algae problems but nothing alittle elbow grease can't handle.

Stock List:

5x Gymnogeophagus n. sp. "Sequiera"
5x Gymnogeophagus labiatus
5x Corydoras paleatus (will add one more cuz 1 died)
6x Rasboras
3x Longfin Albino Zebra Danios

I guess my main question is how many of these gymnogeos should remain once they growup? The dimensions of the tank are 36x15.5x25.5 The reason I have so many so I could form breeding pairs.

Also I'm not sure what I going to do with the rasboras and danios but I like the contrast in size so I'll keep them till I can find a SA tetraish replacement.

Enjoy the pics!!!

I'm no expert, but if it was me i would only keep one breeding pair and some dithers in a 60g with those dimensions. Had it been just a tad wider and not so tall you could probably easely get away with keeping 2 pairs in there.

Overall some nice looking fish you got yourself there:) Gratz!

Looking Great!

absolutely stunning tank and fish!! Very well done

I'm trying to do something similar. Just located some wild A. "red ceibal" and A. cf. scitulus. Planning to add some gymnos and dwarf pikes later...

Actually you should be fine, the rhabdotus stay small and pair bond, labiatus are mouth brooders, with your decore they should do great, crowding them a little works better than trying to just keep a couple pairs together. Ken

im going to be setting up a Uruguayan tank soon, got a pike on the way. i just gotta figure out the rest of the stock. your tank looks great
