Used Plywood tank question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you can safely dissasemble the tank without damaging the liner, it might be worth it to get the glass and the liner.

My only concern with rebuilding is structural integrity once the screws are removed. Screws won't hold as tight the second time around.

Thanks for the moving tips! Wrapping it up was something I had thought about before, and I think that's how we'll go about it. I know that the glass is held by silicone, as far as being siliconed straight to the liner is something I have yet to see. I know that it seems like it might be a disaster waiting to happen, but I know that this thing was built to be modular. The materials that were used were good quality and I think that if we take care during moving and set up, this should go nearly flawless. The one thing that I don't like is that the glass is tempered so it can't be drilled and bolted in the future.
I will find out exactly what sealant and how the glass is installed on Sunday so I can give a bit more info. So far it seems like this isn't the worst buy in the world, just that extreme caution should and will be taken during moving and setup.
I started in this hobby with the goal of housing our fish appropriately and this is a decent step toward that. Now if the landlord would only allow a 5,000 gallon gar pond...
