Used tank with silicon on glass?

I wouldn;t use anything like boiling water of alcohol unless you're very careful not to get it on the good silicone that holds the tank together.

You need a stiff back razor blade (probably several) and a lot of patience. Be careful with the blade too as old/damaged/blunt blades can easily scratch the glass. I hope the tank was a very good deal because it sounds like a lot of hard work!

Here is a picture of it so far. I have been working on the top lines only so far but its gotten very hard to make any progress.

Wow thats bad haha! Your going to be scraping for a long long time

Should think about doing a 3d background. Would save a lot scraping time.

Update after using some goo gone for silicone, this stuff is pretty nasty and its gonna take alot of wiping down of the glass to get it out of the tank, but its working great.

Acetone would be best after you finish then a vinegar and baking soda rub to get it clean.
