generally why dont people 1$ per gallon or when they do they dont ship ive been looking for a tank for a while but when i find one they dont offer shipping and i live in cornville,USA(iowa)?

alot of people try to get as much money as they can, its actually pretty hard to get tanks for $1 a gallon. shipping tanks is really expensive, youd be better off buying a brand new tank than having a used one shipped to you.

depends on tank size. ive been qouted over $1000-1500 to get a 260g shipped.

and a car is not as fragile as a glass tank, which will require it's seal intact.

i live in iowa the closest big tank seller is a 98% saltwater tank seller and i dont need all the stuff they bundle it with

Well then, my friend. May I direct you to the DIY section? Depending on availability and size, sometimes building something yourself is better in the long run if craigslist fails you and a rubbermaid stock tank isn't what you are looking for...

well maybe if stores were to charge $2 per gallon then i could see people charging $1 per gallon.... anyways petco sometimes had a $1 per gallon sale up to 55 gallons and $2 per gallon up to 180 or so... i could be wrong for the last one but the sale is usually during the fall
