i found a used amiracle maxi reef 300 wet dry with dual overflow box for $100
my question is has anyone used this filter is it good quality and is the price reasonable its for a 72 bowfront any insight on this filter would be appreciated also what size return pump would i use with it thanks:confused:

I dont have any experience with that particular wet/dry, but seems to be a good one. Cant says as I have seen any wet/drys that dont work well, besides most people build their own.

As for the return pump I would go with a Quiet One 2200, at 3ft of head preasure it will be pumping 450gph and at 4ft it would be 400 gph, more than enough for your tank.

its difficult to say with a wet/dry

I think that you could easily spend more than $100.00 on a wet/dry sump, with overflow

if you are willing to drill your tank, and do all the plumbing, and stuff yourself you could set up a wet/dry for about $85.00, it may be worth the other $15.00 overflows can be tricky

100$$ for a 300 amiracle wet/dry is a great price that brand is way overpriced, very expensive IMO. If you want to buy a new one and dont want to build your own go with the pro clear aquatics brand, there cheaper than amiracle, work exactly the same and have a life time guarantee!!..............http://stores.ebay.com/The-Pet-Promenade

Thats what I have from my 240g, is the Pro Clear Aquatics 300 with prefilter. Brand new from petsolutions.com it cost me like $250 or something like that, but petsolutions doesnt charge sales tax since it comes out of Ohio.

Buy it. For $100 you aren't going to be able to find a pro clear either. The pro clear 300 is...$300. The amiracle is over kill for the tank but a great filter.

I have had experience with Amiracle wet/dry's and still run one from eight years ago. I also own a Pro Clear 200 that is a great filter.

I dont agree. IMO there is no such thing as overfiltration...overkill
