I know it looks good bombay, and thanks for the reply but the pool sand looks like snow to me and I want a more natural look.

Personally I'd try to 'acquire' some sand from a fresh water river system.

I agree it will be fine textured like you want.

But try your initial plan and see how it turns out, if you don't know of a fresh water source you're comfortable pillaging.

I to think rinsing the beach sand seems like a lot of work, but if that is the look you are after go for it. GL

I got the cheap stuff from Home Depot and filled up my 135g. Looks great and my Geo and Texas Cichlid turn it over a lot so no compaction. As said, beach sand sounds just like that. A beach! lol!
