I got this lil wet dry for basically free today. I was wondering if I could use my two canisters in unison with this wetdry for a boost in filtration for my 220. take a look at the pic to see what I mean. Let me know why it will/wont work, thanks!

Well thats good, anyone else out there? Any reason not to do it? Anyone think it wont help? any forseeable problems?

Umm, they are? If you look the blue lines show water flow direction. Tank-sump-canisters-tank. Maybe its unclear cause its not left-to-right in the picture

I'd put the canisters after the sump. Thats just me.

Looks like they are after it, going by the arrows.

And yes it will work, I have done it with an XP2 and and XP3, the XP1 didn't have enough power to lift the water that high though.

It would work better due to the lower intake height. Plus the added bio mass would due well for the fishes.

This is exactly what will cause the massive flow reduction in the canister filters.

To the OP. NO, this will not work to your expectations. Canister filter pumps are high flow / low head pumps. You put the intake down at the bottom like that and your flow will get cut more than half. I bet the flow would be 1/4 of the max output.

Is there any way that you could put the wet/dry on some risers so that you will be able to let gravity feed the canisters? If you could do that I believe it will work a lot better than the way you have it drawn up.
