using cement board to build aquarium?

Has anyone used cement board and waterproof paint to build an aquarium? The paint should stick very well to the cement board.

I just tiled my bathroom floor and kitchen backsplash. used the 1/2 inch for the first time. It does not seem rigid enough. ---unless backed with the more structurally sound plywood. But at that case, what's the point? Go all ply.

i would have to agree, ply makes a bit more economical sence, because otherwise you would have to use more studs, and that wont be cheap.

I used cement board and drylok inside my 600 gallon ply.

i read your cichlid-forum post looks great but i didnt see where you used the cement board is it on top of the plywood

i love the use of the glass table i have one in my barn collecting dust

There is a side picture from the outside where you can see plenty of 2x4 uprights and thick plywood. looks good.
