Using coal rock as aquarium decorations. Pros and cons?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sounds dodge to me, try it in a small tank with some feeder fish or cheap guppys as a tester i think? if a neon tetra can survive in it anything will lol!

Try mountain stone painted BLack w krylon fusion paints let Dry for 7 days, I gave mine multiple coats ,looks awesome in tank over one yr ,no iisues

Take a trip to the local building supply/masonary supply/ rock quarry. My masonary supply place has tons of beautiful and different rocks. Someone told me if the stone in questions has a smell, like sulphur for example, it will leach into the water. But like was said before, it could also leach toxins like lead. Lead is a danger to you, not just your fish.

I went with basalt. Its good, just heavy.

Don,t mind the unfinished tank :-D its almost done now :-)
