Just wondering if I really need to use the product Cycle while doing water changes. I started using it when we first got into the hobby because I was told to and I'm wondering if I should still use it, its a bit expensive (about $21 a bottle) and they don't last very long. I keep up with water changes doing them once a week and I always use a water conditioner.

Nope no need for it if your tank is fully cycled and creating it own bio load every week . i used it for along time aswell and finally i started asking lots of questions and came to find out once the tank is cycled , you are just throwing money away by useing it .
The lfs will not tell you this though they will say you should us it with all water changes but this is just to get your $$$$$$$$$
