So if I did DIY Co2 I could use the MH?
No. Either go pressurized, or stay to low light. Your tank is too big for reaction co2. If you did that, you will need to run many 2L bottles to maintain a decent level. Even if you ran several, your co2 levels would be too low to keep up with a MH of that wattage.

So what you're saying is that if I found a CO2 Pressurized system that would maintain at a decent level it would be possible to use my Metal Halide? I'm trying to sell it but I don't know how well that will work.

It's not about being unable to produce sufficient CO2 with fermenters, it's about the massive pain in the ass dealing with several 2 liter bottles is, and the inconsistent flow rate that will be much less beneficial than the precise level you can produce from a pressurized system. A 250W metal halide is also extremely high light for a freshwater tank, especially if it is shallow.

Compact fluorescent is still widely used, although it is less efficient than T5HO in terms of total light output and reflector design.
