I've used mirrors a good bit to help bring fish out of their shell and it seems to make them more interactive, or aggressive. You all see any problems with using mirrors? It really got my new male zonatum to lighten up after being introduced to a new tank.

Some flowerhorn keepers swear by it. It bring s aggression and colors out from my experience.

A mirror helped me bring an abused oscar back to his playful personality, nothing but good things for me.

Mine don't stay up long as they gradually get used to it and ignore it. However, when used sparingly it works well.

A mirror has never worked on my dovii. He seems to "know". Damn smartest fish I've ever owned. He does many other things that make me think he is smarter than the other cichlids I have. I hope to have him ready by tax time next year!

I've never had any cichlid care about a mirror for more than 5 minutes. Either they'll run and hide, or attack it once or twice and leave it alone.

I don't see any issues with it unless you have a hyper aggressive fish that won't leave it alone.
