Using only AC110's on monster tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As awesome and inexpensive as they are it is tempting to only go with AC's. However, using a combination of filters is more flexible. I have not been able to find a way to give the water a real good "polish" with the AC alone.

try putting one of those micron filters on the intake of the ac110.

Very few power filters take kindly to a restricted intake. You'd be better off with a dence sponge on the top of the media stack after the rest.

id like to know how this sponge looks like so i can buy it. i would love my water to have that nice polished look.

i just took my ac 110 out of my 55 gal. and put it in my 20 gal. long. i'm using a rena xp3 now. the ac worked well, there's the only hanging filter i'd buy. for a tank that size i'd rather use multiple filtration.

I personally prefer canisters over power filters. Another neat thing I like about them is its more pleasing to the eye to see canister tubes going into my tank than a bulky powerfilter in the back.

Get a backround all the tubes goin in look the same... I have 2 AC110s and I wouldnt buy any other filter for only 39.99 EACH. Go to Petsmart price match an online price... and boom your "good to go"
