Using other people photos for your stock

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When you search on google, or whatever you search on, what site comes up the most when referring to fish?
Maybe when he searched it brought him to MFK and he copied your photo, cause if you notice(and I'm sure everyone does) all the other fish are copied from the web also.
I'm sure he probably just put in certain fish species and grabbed whatever photos he had come up seeing he probably has the same fish.

Thats pretty bad since its false advertisement for any one thinking those are the fish your going to get... so i would definitely report him, since i don't think he mentions those aren't his/her fish...

He's just using it for illustrative purposes. I've used others pics before too. Sometimes I was just too lazy or didn't have a camera handy. I don't see what the big deal is. PLUS your picture is NOT copyrighted.

BTW, for those going ape **** over this, how is he hurting the OP?

Normally, if your just using the pics to illustrate the type of fish your selling, you mention it... Now since its fish, it would be good to use your own pics... since lets be honest, not every one out there is like the people here on MFK who take care of the fish... for all the potential buyer knows, they could be very beaten up and very sick fish...

As for how it hurts the OP, it doesn't really... unless hes a professional photographer in which case, he has every right to be upset one of his photos has been stolen, since technically thats his work of art...

I know this doesn't really apply here, but i've had my work stolen and used a couple of times and each and every time its been done i can tell you i wasn't very pleased...

/Rant...
