what about internal parasites? those are the ones you never know about.
If you are worried you can feed them bread with garlic juice while salting them, it will kill most worms and protozoals.

then pour in the pot... we have a sunfish soup???
Lol, I might try that, Bet it's not as good as drunken shrimp soup though. I had it in S.Korea, it is made with pickled greens, cold slightly salted plum wine, and live bumblebee shrimp. Chasing them with your chopsticks is half the fun.

are bumblebee shrimp very similar to ghost shrimp? is there a problem with getting their carapace stuck in your throat?

They are like glass shimp with black bands and max out at around an inch and a half long. they live in shallow, fast steams on rocky bottoms in Korea. Thier shells are very thin and have texture much like a recently molted crayfish. The little legs are annoying though. I would love to find some for sale because they are freshwater, and not tropicals, Korea gets cold in the winter.

I think you are taking a risk not to mention you are messing with the eco system. Feeders are not that expensive. Don't be cheep buy fedders.

The greens add a salty, peppry, tartness.
