Every once in a while I feed my gar live minnows that I catch. I hear that it's good for your fish to give them live food like bugs or fish (healthy of coarse, not goldfish) because it offers them a challenge. Don't quote me on that though. I heard someone else say it on hear. Also I'm talking like once every 1-3 months. Also my LMB ate a tadpole once and didn't mind it. when I was little I used to have a big red tail shark and one day I put 3 tadpoles in the tank to raise and he ate all three.
