Utah to use execution by firing squad on Friday

if you shoot someone, you should be shot, if you stab someone you should be stabbed, if you rape someone....

Who gets that job?

its over now- he chose to die this way, and i guess i just have no sympathy for ppl who hurt others-i find it fitting he died the same way he coldheartedly killed.

i feel the same way.... so often ..too often the victim is just totally forgotton... all you hear about is the murderer and his life story.. i can only imagine if i was the person who had to live the nightmare over and over with the thought my love one was murdered.. how many victims besides the victim did the murderer really kill... my heart would be in pain forever.. yes you go on living.. but not the same life you had before... i don't know why society does not focus on these people instead of the murderer..

I don't have a problem with the firing squad as a method for implementing the death penalty....but

I don't support the dealth penalty because it:
- Doesn't deter illegal activity or murder
- Is applied in a biased way against the poor
- Costs a lot more than lifetime incarceration
- Has resulted in the state killing innocent people

Basically the reasons that the (Republican) Governor of Illinois placed a moratorium on the death penalty in his state ( http://partners.nytimes.com/library/national/052100il-deathpenalty.html)

Seems like a good way to go to me if you had to do die.
Injection-not my style-probably burns like hell.
electrocution-hell no-to be basically burned/melted from the insides out-oof!
Hanging-not too sure on this one-is it instant or do you actually feel the neck break etc before your dead?

i dont think you die instantly. the bullets go into your heart, not your head. if you read the articles, witnesses say that he didnt die instantly and he was clenching his fists and moving his arms until he died.

now he knows what his victims felt in the last moments of their lives.
