I have money plant in the same tank and lucky bamboo in another

UV sterilizers only effect what passes thru them, and then only, if it passes thru at a a slow enough rate.
If the algae is sessile (growing on the glass), it won't have any effect at all. It will scramble the genes of the free floating spores, but no effect at all on higher plants.
