UV light

thanks for the replys. I have read that killing parasite is alot harder then to kill bacteria and alge with uv light. For example a 9 watt is NOT strong enough to kill parasites, a 30watt will kill all bacteria and alge at a max 525 gph and kill parasites at a max 175gph. I am running a fluval 404 in my 80g tank and that fluval 404 pumps out 380gph. So for the 30 watt it would only be good enough to kill bacteria and alge but not parasites. To kill parasite i would need to get a 40watt UV light that kill parasites at 300 gph so even with that i might have to slow down the flow rate of my 404 just a lil bit to kill parasites.
My question is it very important to kill parasites too? Doi really need to spend like 200-300 to get a UV light that can kill parasites at that flow rate of my fluval 404? Or you think that killing Bacteria and alge will prevent my 80g discus tank from getting sick more easily?

Just get the turbo twist 6x 18 watt either the pond one or the salt water one. Either one has the same flow rate, and is exactly what you are looking for!
