UV sterilizer usage

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am 99% certain it wont help with tannins, because they dont live, you cant kill them with UV light. I think boiling or carbon use are probably two common ways to get rid of tannins. Tannins should not hurt anything either if that matters.

Shouldnt matter when it is on to take care of your algae. And the tint is in the water right? It wont help too much if it is on the glass. What kind of bamboo? If it is of the 'lucky' variety its not an aquatic plant.

I don't know what kind of bamboo, but pretty certain it is NOT the aquatic variety. However......... through trial and error I have found tremendous success with this type of bamboo and all stocks have grown out of the tank. It's actually really cool looking. It looks as though the back of the tank has a background of bamboo that extends above the tank. I also have Ansel Adams B&W pictures behind this tank so they go perfectly with a light green bamboo forground.
Amazing what happens by pure luck.

How are your nitrates? That lucky bamboo helping at all?
