180-230gph is good. A canister of 320gph packed with media will push out about 230-250gph. The key is to give enough time for the UV penetrate and kill microbes as it's exposed to the light.selki;2194260; said:

i dont plan on adding a canister to it till maybe later in hte future. but for now 1 ac110 and 2 emperor 400 for 3 aros and 1 turtle with the UV added with a pump and a spongefilter should b good righT?

Turtle and fish shouldn't mix. Your fish might end up being the turtle meal. Ya 160gph is good enough for a UV. If you're diligent with water change and algae scrubbing then you don't have to have a UV. This is only if you want to save money.selki;2194689; said:

If bacteria is what you're worried about then UV should help. It'll solve mysterious fish deaths that a lot of us have no explanation for.selki;2194743; said:
