Is there a difference between UV Sterilizers that are meant for ponds?

Aquarium sterilizers and pond clarifiers are the exact same thing... Both emit UV-C radiation...

If used at proper flow rates, pond clarifiers will offer aquariums the full range of benefits an aquarium UV will offer... and vise versa...

Is pond UV Sterilizers any stronger then any regular one or since its the same watt it just works exactly the same?

A 9W UV pond clarifier and a 9W UV aquarium sterilizer are the same thing...

UV on a pond is usually meant for killing green water (algae) only...

UV on an aquarium is usually meant for killing parasites as well as the entire host of other benefits...

It is the saem bulb, using the same UV-C radiation, working off the exact same principals... just used at different rates to produce different effects...

To kill parasites as well as all other UV benefits I highly suggest:

1W of UV strength per 10 gal of aquarium volume...
10 gph of flow rate through the UV unit per 1W of UV strength...

For simply removing green water the same UV unit will service a much much larger body of water and can have much much faster flow rate...

The 'science' behind the bulbs are the same, but you may find some differences in the construction of the housing...

Some of the "pond" versions of UV lights are built much more solid than some of the aquarium versions... also some of the pond versions are submersible...
