UV Sterilizers - Yes or No

So all in all I can stop diverting the flow of my canister and just send the water through my 2262 then straight into my UV without the t line and ball valve??

I think this thread had nailed to the ground that they are highly useful.

I guess the only remaining question is, will my 2262 on a 300l tank, attached to a 40w UV (rated for a 10000lph swimming pool) be of inline.....

I suspect yes lol

I was running a 25 watt TMC Vecton2 hooked to a 2262 on my old 120 gallon. According to the company I bought the UV from, they claimed I would reach almost level 2 sterilization with that set up.

I run a 65 watt emperor aquatics on my 400 gallon. A mag 18 pushes through it but it is t'd off prior to the unit to a k1 reactor loop, plus it is pumping against 8 feet of head, so flow rate is quite slow. Since purchasing one I have not had a single bacterial, fungal, or other parasitic infection, and rays will bite and chew each other all the time so the potential for wound infection has been and is there.

I am not running anything on my 720 gallon because I can't afford one yet, plus it is a plywood build in a windowless basement so I don't see myself having large algae issues. When I can afford one I will loop it in with a mag 12 or 18 probably. Wonder if i need to go higher than 65 watts...

To paraphrase dB junkie, knowledge is power.
