They should knock back all the algae that is floating in the tank, which in turn would help to cut back on the algae growing on surfaces in your tank, theoretically. Also cut back on parasites and the like for sure, one of the main reasons i want it. Would it kill a fish though? I know my clown loaches would take trips through my filter, luckily they were alright, but if they got sucked into the UV...oy....

How do you calculate the ppm for Co2? Do you tank the gallonage of the tank and # of bubbles per minute or something and divide them into each other? Or is there a tester?
For correct CO2 levels, you need to know the kH of your water. Then you only have to have a permanent pH indicator in your tank and adjust the CO2 accordingly. Reference tables are packed with every CO2 unit
