UVB Lighting

Just wondering, is UVB Reptile Light Fluorescent bulbs recommended for the development of the shell of FRT's (ie, Reptisun Reptile bulbs)? ie, to similate sun conditions for the absorption of calcium and development of shell and bone structure?

Or is it ineffective since the turtle is below water the whole time?

Its efective, use a 5.0

It's probably not as noticeable as with basking species, since water filters out UV rays, but it wouldn't hurt to provide it

I don't know anyone who has actually setup a UV light on their tank for a FRT, but some people do take the FRT out for some sun basking every so often.
