Just seen here in the UK the Nat geo programme called 'Megafish'-all about the Giant Mekong Catfish. Had some massive fish and some huge fr:headbang2:headbang2eshwater stingrays. well worth viewing
 
Great info! Creating awareness about true monster freshies! Gotta make you wonder why natural resources usually has a size restriction on fish bags - why take only the large breeding stock? Freshwater ecosystems need large apex predators to keep in balance. This I'm sure is a question that has been raised many times.

it is because you arent going to catch all the big fish, also a lot of people practice catch and release and it also gives the younger fish a chance to spawn.
