Yes, he knows what he has. And you can't blame him for being a jack hole after insulting him with that offer. When something is not for sale, you have to make an offer above its value. When you beg to make an offer and then low ball the guy, it is very demeaning.

Ok, that changes things. I should have read the thread before posting :nilly: A reasonable offer for it not being for sale would be two to three grand.

Everything is for sale. An items value is what someone is willing to pay for it. The current owner will not sell for under ten grand, so the price that he will pay to keep it is ten grand. That is its current value.
 
When I say I dont like him, its not just from this encounter. I have been there numerous times and its just my feelings about the guy
 
Could you get a really good pic of the set-up? Filtration would be a nice bonus.
 
its just a 300g rubbermaid with a pond canister filter. Setup sux for such a nice animal. I feel really bad for it
