Thats cool.. sounds like your Pinimas are looking good, cant wait for the pics :D

doc says i'm supposed to be ok to go back to work on Monday.. and starting next week my son is going to be living in LA and only coming home on his days off. which he'll only take if they force him to take them.

imagine the money i'm gonna save being here alone.. i can shut off the cable tv because no one will be watching it. only electricity that will be used will be the aquariums and the appliances. i only need one light on at a time. i don't eat much, just cereal, and fruit mostly.. once in awhile some chicken or a hamburger, maybe a steak on the weekend.

i'll have almost no time to sit and chat or post on here.. 9 aquariums, 7 snakes and 6 dogs take time to care for. besides working 40 hours.

yea i agree.. i never really posted in the lounge before untill this thread was moved here.

i just got some of my guys eating dried krill. 2 out of the 4 eat anything and the other 2 only take live, but yesterday the most stubborn orino gave in so that makes it a bunch easier. i find that if you cant get them to take pellets then try to get them on other dry foods first such as krill which must taste amazing to them since they like it better then cut market shrimp. at first i feel you have to soak the krill so its a bit soft, if you tried dried pellets first and they didnt want to eat dry pellets then they arent going to want to eat dry krill. once you have them scarfing the krill up on the regular for 2 or 3 days or longer to make sure they will eat it and you just didnt get lucky. lol now you can start prepping them for pellets by throwing pieces of the krill in dry. then once you fatten them up on the dry krill you can try pellets dry or wet. in the past i would have to wet the pellets slightly before feeding them to get them to take them at first. i thought this was fool proof since this is how i got 3 different groups of wild cichla to scarf them up but recently i proved myself wrong. one of wild monos(who i no longer have, he grew way to fast) ate the pellets dry and none of the others would even look at the pellets and even if they did they would spit them out instantly no matter if they were wet or dry. its easier when your cichla are bigger since small fish tend to hold their food in their mouth for a little and larger fish tend to swallow fast or if not then faster. soon i will have my guys on pellets, i predict about another month or maybe a little more. i love pellets, nothing brings out their colors more and they smash them hard once you have them feeding on them. it is kind of the same thing with the krill. they are more aggressive towards the krill then they are eating the feeders i throw in there. oh and also watch out with starving small cichla, you cna stunt them ;)

we're going to miss you :nilly: :(

ahaha thanks for the info Pete! =) only reason i didn't feed them that one day is the other night they had a too much of a feed....=/ lol they took too much food that was in my Gars mouth :nilly: too much for the orinos lol :) But boy this morning was a sight....aha my lil 2.5-3" pinima snagged a fly that got stuck into the tank when i closed the lid...lol not its flying around the top of the tank trying to not fall into the water  and i have a 3" air opening from the waterling to the lid and the fly was just hovering around and my pinima saw it and jumped out of the water and grabbed it and ate it
