Water changes, temp, and id say very important is what you are feeding. Top quality foods and a nice mixed diet goes a long way
Currently I am still growing out:
shoal of EBH silver dollars and 1 ERH
shoal of IT dats
silver aro
couple black aros
endlicheri
ornate
blood parrots
vitattus ATF
alligator snapping turtle
These are the aquatic critters I grew out from babies and still growing out. I am doing all the above along with a varied diet but I am no longer doing water changes manually.
temps @ 83f and nitrates 40ppm or lower is the way to go(certain tanks barely read 5ppm but the community tank does not go over 40ppm with my feeding regiment).
