Value of a 8-9 inch pike cichlid ?

Lfs near me has a healthy active 8-9 inch pike cichlid for 60 bucks. Is it worth it ?

It's an orange pike cichlid. Don't have any pics but its got the long solid black line down it's side like the orange does.

Found a pic that looks identical to him. Not an orange like i thought.

These are "orange" pikes for sure for compairison....

Yeah is isint an orange. Its for sure the Crenicichla strigata in the previous link.

I would pick it up then and post pics. Still a good price. Do you see many pike in your area?

There's no pikes here, this is in St. Louis which is 2 hrs away. 2 hrs away may seem "near" to him, but not me, lol.

Anyway, not sure what pikes usually cost up in that area. I've never seen one for sale that big anywhere and we usually check out fish stores in whatever state/city we happen to be visiting.

Unfortunately I didn't look real close at the fish since I didn't figure we'd have room for it at the time anyway, otherwise I could second his I.D.
