  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If it is in St. Louis, where at in St. Louis. I frequent several and am familiar with the owners. Maybe I have seen it before.

At the risk of having you swoop him out from under me he's at tropical world in one of the big tanks they have set in the wall at the end of each isle of fish.

I know that place well. Chuck Dyn owns it. That is probably the best place in St. Louis to get CA/SA. At least the largest Selections. He is who I got my Marmorata through.
He will purchase through Rapps sometimes. He also purchase through some other vendors online especially if they have something for him.

If it is the same one that was in there 3-4 weeks ago then it is Saxatilis species. Not sure of the exact species though. I did not pay enough attention as I am more into the larger Lugubris.
Was it in the large tank at the end of the center Isle? If you like it go for it. Doesn't matter what others think. When I was there it looked to be in exellent condition. Nice and beefy. He also had some Johanna and Xingu I.

I try to get my lfs to order from Jeff, or anyone else with real fish. They seem to want to, but they still do not. I really wish they would.

The lfs here "Tropical Worlds" owner told me that the problem with Rapps is that with his prices even with bulk or dealer discounts, is that with the size of his stock compared to prices makes it hard to move them out of the lfs's.
Meaning he has to mark them up to much to move the stock and still make money on them.
So he will place special group orders for a few people and himself.

Neither of us can remember which tank it was, just one of the big ones, but you're probably right since I haven't seen a pike that big up there yet. Usually juveniles.

If he's still there when we or someone we know goes up there we'll pick him up.

I just went by there today and it isn't the same pike. He sold the other one. The
one that you guys seen is a fairly new trade in. I got pics on cell phone, but now
I lost my blue tooth adapter. rrrggg
Appears to be a Johanna though.

Thanks for the possible I.D.

Our friend is gonna pick it up tomorrow if it's still there, then we can get some good pics of it :)

This is the new arrival! First pike we've ever owned and we already want more!
And yes thats a sunfish behind him. :)

Tentatively ID'ed as a Johanni. Looks like it to me also.

Got the new fella eating earthworms. He tasted some floating carnivore pellets repeatedly but never did swallow one. I figure if i keep trying them on him he'll start swallowing them.
